Natural Dyed Wool-foraged at the Farm
So we decided to naturally dye some "free to me" wool for to the first time. I saved up one years worth of onion skins (roughly), because I heard that was the easiest way to start into dying.

I had an old slow cooker I didn't use anymore, technically I have two, since I have an instant pot now. I did add mystery yellow dye from last year. My guess would be onion skins, and tumeric with a mint infusion.
Then I prodded them occassionally with a stick I found beside the front porch, where we were dying (our regular office space got rained out). so we collected pine bark, cedar bark (because we had it, and my dad suggested it. I agreed, Cedar is very high in tannins, so it should work. The
Water is already changing colours), we also collected willow bark, with loads of lichen in place (all sparsely collected from dead branches, we want to leave a lot for the wildlife, and nature to do its thing.

This is the cedar, fresh from a family friend
who cut down old cedar trees in their backyard. We can't wait to play with it, it's a fairly fresh cut, but even just out on the porch its changing colour. You can almost see the reddish hue in the water. That is only after a few hours! Just on a cloudy/rainy day! We are excited to see what happens!
